On 1 September 2020, FRC researcher Júlia Zomignani Barboza participated as a speaker in the wrap up session of the Global Launch of the Handbook on Data Protection in Humanitarian Action. Júlia contributed to the panel’s task of summarising the main points of the previous panels and reinforcing the need for humanitarian actors to respect both data protection and humanitarian principles when handling data of affected populations to ensure they do no harm to those they seek to assist. The full recording of the event will soon be available at the Handbook’s website.
