On 19 August 2024, FRC launches its Podcast!
In the FRC podcast, we dive into a diverse array of multidisciplinary topics that shape our world today by analysing their impact on fundamental rights. From criminal law, migration and asylum issues to the implications of artificial intelligence and data protection, we bring you insightful discussions and expert perspectives.
The first episode of the podcast features FRC members Juraj Sajfert and Andreas Kanakakis. In this episode, Juraj and Andreas introduce us to the PROMODE project (Modernising the Codes of Criminal Procedure on Digital Investigative Methods), which aims at combining the languages of criminal procedural law, human rights law and data protection law with regard to novel methods for crime investigations. They take the chance to shed some light on the recently adopted EU AI Act and focus on the integration of Artificial Intelligence in Criminal Procedure. Lastly, they set out to comment the recent landmark decision of the Court of Justice of the EU on case C-670/22, which attempted to address issues related to the issuance and execution of European Investigation Orders and the admissibility of evidence acquired thereof.
