Andreas Kanakakis
Biography
Andreas completed his undergraduate studies in Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2017-2021). In 2022 he joined the European Law School Network and obtained a master’s degree in European Law and Comparative Legal Studies with a specialisation in Criminal Law at the Humboldt University in Berlin. His master thesis focuses on the European Investigation Order and the actual challenges the institution has to face.
Andreas is a qualified lawyer, admitted to the Athens Bar Association. He has worked as an intern at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic and at a law firm.
In September 2023, Andreas became a PhD candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and at the University of Luxembourg. He joined the Fundamental Rights Research Centre (FRC) as part of the PROMODE (Modernising Codes of Criminal Procedure on digital investigative methods: combining the languages of criminal procedural law, data protection law and European human rights law) research project.
