Description
The objective of this research is to provide evidence based advice to the EU institutions and EU Member States on criminal procedural rights. The project focuses in particular on the procedural safeguards for children who are suspects or accused persons in criminal proceedings. ‘Child’ means a person below the age of 18. These safeguards are prescribed in Directive (EU) 2016/800 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 on procedural safeguards for children who are suspects or accused persons in criminal proceedings.
In this regard, FRC’s fieldwork report (based on the fieldwork conducted in 2021) provided country-level information on procedural safeguards for children who are suspects or accused person in criminal proceedings, thus contributing to the drafting of FRA’s comparative report.
