FRC Member, Dr Amy Weatherburn has published an article in the inaugural open-access issue of the Journal of Human Trafficking, Enslavement and Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (JHEC) (formerly, the Journal of Human Trafficking and Exploitation). The article, entitled Improving Prosecutions of Human Trafficking for Labour Exploitation: Lessons Learned from Two European Jurisdictions (England and Wales and Belgium) addresses the increasing number of identified victims of human trafficking for labour exploitation and the low number of associated prosecutions and calls into question the effective implementation of anti-trafficking measures in European countries. The article draws on findings from Dr Weatherburn’s doctoral findings by focusing on prosecutions for human trafficking for labour exploitation in England and Wales and Belgium.
