The Fundamental Rights Centre (FRC) is proud to announce the publication of a new book titled 'Undesirable but Unreturnable Migrants: the Challenge of Dealing with Criminal Migrants in Need of Protection. A Comparative Analysis of Australia, Belgium, and Canada' by FRC affiliated member Julia Zomignani Barboza. This book is based on Julia's PhD research and explores how States regulate the situation of undesirable but unreturnable migrants, i.e. migrants in need of international protection but who often do not receive it as having a criminal background or pose a threat to public order. In her book, Julia critically analyses three countries and proposes a reform of the international protection procedure to provide a human rights compliant solution to the situation of these migrants.
