Marijke De Pauw

Dr. Marijke De Pauw was a doctoral researcher and member of the Fundamental Rights Research Centre from 2012 to 2017. During that time, she conducted research on a wide variety of human rights related subjects, including human rights treaty interpretation, the UN treaty body system, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the rights of older persons and persons with disabilities. In 2014, Dr. De Pauw was a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley School of Law and at the Institute for European Global Studies of Basel University.  

In June 2017, Dr. De Pauw successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on “International Human Rights Law: Between Fragmentation and Coordination. A Case Study on the Emerging Rights of Older Persons.” She is currently working as a human rights consultant for HelpAge International.  For more information, please visit Dr. De Pauw’s personal page.
