

Katharine Woolrych

Katharine Woolrych is a PhD Researcher at the Fundamental Rights Research Centre and the Centre for Migration, Diversity and Justice of the Brussels School of Governance. Previously, she worked as the EU advocacy lead for HIAS, with the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE), and on refugee resettlement and inclusion topics in Aotearoa New Zealand. She holds an LL.M. in Human Rights Law with a specialisation in Migration.
Katharine’s research interests include accountability for extraterritorialised and ‘exceptional' migration management, access to asylum, and safe pathways for refugees. At the BSoG, her legal research compares European, Inter-American and African jurisprudence to identify effective remedy standards that can strengthen accountability for rights violations at European borders.
