Gracienne LAUWERS
Biography
Gracienne Lauwers holds a Ph.D. Law (Netherlands), a Lic. (Master) Iur. (Belgium) and a Lic. (Master) Arts (Belgium).
Her areas of specialty are European law, public international law, human rights, disability law, education law, sustainability and environmental law, comparative education policy (EU countries), international education policy (countries outside the EU), global education studies (diverse regions from a worldwide perspective), inclusive education, and teaching law to non-lawyers.
Alongside positions at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Faculty of Law & Teacher Education Institute), Trento University, Vilnius University, Vytautas Magnus University, University of the Free State, Tirana Business University, she provides advice to ngo’s, governmental agencies and individuals on issues in her field of expertise. She was the recipient of the 2012 “Best Professor” award. She is co-founder of the European Education and Law Alliances foundation.
Gracienne Lauwers holds the Jean Monnet for Teacher Training at the VUB Faculty of Law. She is grantholder of the Jean Monnet Grant 101047545 (ELAT), the Erasmus+ Capacity-Building in Higher Education Grant 101126419 (MONEUL), the Erasmus+ Capacity-Building in Higher Education Grant 617443CBHE-JP (MELINC) and the Erasmus+ Capacity-Building in Higher Education Grant 573540CBHE-JP (EduLAw).
