Description
This research project (which took place between June and December 2022) aimed to explore how enforcing consumers’ rights can serve protection of the environment by prompting the sustainable behaviour of business (as regards the production, supply and marketing of goods and the provision of services).
The research therefore investigated how consumers can be empowered to ensure that business will provide them with all the practical possibility to consume in a more sustainable way, but also to hold business accountable for their activity relevant for the environment.
The resulting Belgian report contributed to FRA's report Enforcing consumer rights to combat greenwashing.
