Since May 2019, FRC has welcome Elisabeth Koek as a visiting researcher.
After 10 years of practical experience in Europe, Africa and the Middle East in human rights, humanitarian aid and protection, Elisabeth has started her PhD at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, NUI Galway. Her research deals with the protection of critical infrastructure in urban warfare and uses many case studies to underpin her findings, such as the Israel's war on Gaza in 2014 and the Iraqi and US-led Coalition's operations in Fallujah in 2016 and in Mosul in 2017.
